Having enjoyed the first trail I took my nephew on, I was able to take him to one other place while he visited. Work kept me too busy to spend too much time with him. But decided to drive him down to Starved Rock. It was quite muddy and he was wearing white shoes. He wasn't too happy about that and I didn't get to show him the hidden places, but he enjoyed the place nonetheless.
So, my nephew visited for a few weeks and wanted to go walking with me. He use to not like walking too much when he would visit, but last time I did managed to get him on a trail he liked. This year I took him on a different trail. We actually walked about 7 miles that day. I was really surprised he enjoyed it. And we even got to see an endangered turtle!
A few of the abandoned places I've been to have started to be taken down. Seeing this has left me missing them. I've gotten attached to certain ones of the years, as I would go back to them a few times, some more than others. And it is getting harder and harder to find new ones to visit.Read More
I admit, I'm terrible at manual focusing. I'd love to be good at it, but my eyesight is just not that good at being able to tell if something is in focus. I've played around with the thought of lasik surgery, but I'm worried about some of the side effects, even though they are either minimal or rare. After all, my eyes are my hobby.Read More
Well, it was over a month since I'd been out with my camera. I really wanted to do more street photography, but leaving my old job and getting a new one (and rain) kept me from getting a chance to go out. Then I just kind of didn't feel like going out. But I finally forced myself into it one day.Read More
I've walked quite a few trails since I moved to Illinois in 2013. I typically have no shortage of finding things to photograph on any trail I take, but some have supplied more than others.Read More
So, it's been a while since my last post. I apologize. Not the best way to keep a core audience or to get new people interesting in my work. Sadly, I'm not sure how much free time I will have for a little while, as I just got a new job.Read More
April 22, 2017. Earth Day. Organized marches around the world for science. It's a cause near and dear to me, and it should be something everyone cares about. It is everywhere, literally.Read More
It's been a while, but decided to rush out after work with the camera yesterday. It was the first truly nice day in weeks. Though I knew it'd be muddy because of all the rain lately.
70f and sunny at 2:30pm when I clocked out. I had to rush home, change, get my gear together, and decide where to go. I decided on my favorite recent place of Penny Road. A very big area to walk with a lot of woods and big fields. Having previously seen coyotes, hawks, owls, and quite a number of other animals in the area; I thought it would be a good trip for a few quick shots.Read More
I finally decided to dive in and make a website for my photography. And what better day to celebrate its birth than on my birthday?
This is something that has been in the back of my mind for some time now. I know I may not have gone to school for photography, but it's definitely something I have fallen in love with in the few years since a friend sent me a camera he no longer needed. It was the best gift I could have ever received, because I've delved into the art like a madman.
Whether this next step in my adventure succeeds or fails, I will not stop wanting to show others how I see the world.
So thank you all for checking out my adventures and there will be more to come!
Don't be afraid to dream, even if a little!
